Product Description:
The 108616-0025 is a preterminated feedback cable manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It provides the physical pathway that carries incremental position signals, supply voltage, and reference ground from a shaft-mounted encoder to a drive or PLC input board inside the control cabinet. Factory-molded ends simplify installation, while electromagnetic shielding helps maintain signal integrity in industrial automation systems that rely on accurate rotary feedback.
This model is matched to the H58 incremental encoder and follows the device’s channel map and supply conductor arrangement. At the encoder end, a 12-pin M23 female connector carries the A, B, and Z signals and their complementary signals, while dedicated power pins support regulated sensor voltage. Internal copper conductors are divided into twisted signal pairs and power pairs with wire sizes of 22 AWG and 24 AWG. The heavier wires minimize voltage drop on the supply conductors, whereas the finer wires keep the overall cable diameter compact. The insulated bundle contains 8 individual leads, along with an overall braid and foil shield tied to the connector shell. This shielding arrangement controls common-mode noise and crosstalk between differential signal pairs.
The coupling nut is keyed for a clockwise mating action, which aligns the contact pattern without requiring tools during connection. On the controller side, the jacket terminates in flying leads, allowing the individual conductors to connect to terminal blocks, solder lugs, or removable plug-in headers. PVC insulation supports continuous conductor temperatures up to 105 °C while remaining flexible at temperatures as low as -20 °C for cold starts in unheated equipment bays. The separate signal and power conductors allow the cable to carry encoder feedback and sensor power through one assembly. Its overall shield connects to the metal connector shell to provide a continuous path for interference control. Proper grounding of the shield helps protect low-level encoder signals from electrical noise generated by nearby motors, drives, and switching equipment.
