Product Description:
The 108615-0020 is a purpose-built encoder interconnection cable produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It links rotary feedback devices to motion controllers in automated machinery, routing incremental or absolute position signals while maintaining electrical noise immunity. In production cells where accurate shaft tracking governs speed loops and registration, this cable forms the passive path between the transducer and drive. The assembly includes terminated connection hardware for installation on motor lines, conveyors, and web-handling equipment.
Constructed as a cable assembly, the harness is jacketed and strain-relieved at both ends to prevent conductor fatigue during continuous axis movement. An encoder-side M23 female connector provides sealing and 360-degree shielding, while its 12-pin insert allocates discrete pairs for the power supply, quadrature channels, index, and auxiliary sensors. The internal bundle carries 10 leads, leaving two connector positions unused for customer I/O or future expansion. The internal conductors use 22 AWG and 24 AWG copper strands to limit voltage drop over typical machine runs while keeping the overall cable diameter compact. The jacket and strain relief support routing in dynamic applications where repeated movement could otherwise fatigue conductors or weaken terminations.
The cable provides native support for H58 and HS35 encoders, two Dynapar models used on packaging winders, extruders, and conveyor systems. On the controller side, the jacket terminates in flying leads, allowing each conductor to be cut to length and connected with ferrules, screw terminals, or solder joints that match the cabinet layout. The design transports differential TTL, line-driver, or open-collector signals through its compatibility with any output standard used by the connected sensor. Key-notch alignment inside the shell fixes the contacts in a counterclockwise (CCW) orientation, maintaining the intended phase relationship between channels A and B across connected axes. The shielded connector and differential signal paths help protect feedback data from electromagnetic interference and vibration in industrial machinery.
