Product Description:
The 108615-0010 is a cable assembly produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It provides a dedicated interface between rotary encoders and motion controllers in automated equipment, conveying power and position signals while shielding them from industrial noise. Standardized connectors and conductor counts allow the assembly to connect compatible feedback devices without additional adapters. This arrangement helps speed, direction, and homing signals reach variable-speed drives and PLC input cards for closed-loop control on conveyors, winders, and machine tools.
Compatibility with H58 and HS35 optical encoders determines the electrical pinout and shielding arrangement used in the cable. The encoder side terminates in a female M23 circular connector with a keyed insert that locks into the mating plug when turned counterclockwise. Its shell orientation is designated CCW, and the keyed coupling maintains the correct phase relationship between the differential A, B, and Z channels. A molded strain-relief backshell protects the transition between the connector and jacket while maintaining the required cable bend radius. The assembly has a fixed length of 10 ft, providing predictable resistance and capacitance across the run. This fixed length helps the transmitted square-wave signals remain within the applicable drive receiver limits.
At the opposite end, the stripped jacket exposes flying leads, allowing each conductor to be cut to the required length for connection to terminal strips or field-wireable plugs. The cable contains 10 leads, providing conductors for incremental quadrature pairs, the index track, supply lines, and additional connections. The supported encoder models can use any output format, and the open-lead arrangement accommodates both single-ended and RS-422 signal levels without retermination. Contact allocation inside the M23 connector totals 12 pins, leaving two contacts available for a shield drain or auxiliary channels. Documented conductor colors also simplify identification when the flying leads are connected within a control enclosure.
