Product Description:
The 108596-0030 is an incremental encoder cable supplied by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It links H20, HA25, HC25, HR25, HS35, 525, and 625 rotary encoders to downstream interface boards or drives, carrying differential quadrature signals and power through a single bundled line. By matching the MS-style receptacle used on these encoder families, the cable simplifies installation and maintains the electrical characteristics needed for reliable motion feedback in industrial automation. Its bundled design also reduces the number of separate connections required between the encoder and control equipment.
The cable has an overall length of 30 ft, allowing the encoder to be positioned a moderate distance from the controller without additional junctions. A 7-pin layout is present at the encoder end and uses a female MS connector that engages the encoder’s circular header and locks with a threaded coupling nut. Signal conductors are arranged as complementary pairs to support a differential output scheme that rejects common-mode noise in electrically noisy plant environments. The cable is shielded, so the drain path directs induced interference to ground instead of the logic inputs. Inside the jacket, seven individual leads match the connector pin count and provide conductors for channels A and B, the power supply, and the optional index connection.
The cable has no terminated index channel, making it suitable for applications that require only A and B displacement data. At the drive cabinet, the jacket is stripped back to expose flying leads, which can be connected to terminal blocks or solder lugs. Available cable lengths increase in 5 ft increments, providing standardized length options for different routing distances. Signal formatting follows the 7-pin differential line-driver convention, enabling direct connection to RS-422-compatible counters, PLC encoder modules, or servo drives without additional adapters. The threaded encoder-side coupling helps resist accidental disconnection when the cable is exposed to normal machine vibration.
