Product Description:
The 108596-0010 cable is part of the Dynapar Encoder Cables series manufactured by Danaher. Intended for motion-control installations, this molded assembly links incremental encoders to drives or PLC input cards, forming the physical layer for quadrature feedback. Shielded twisted pairs inside an industrial jacket help maintain signal fidelity over machine runs where vibration, oil spray, or electromagnetic interference could otherwise corrupt the position data used for closed-loop speed, tension, or registration control. The cable is suited to panel installations that require reliable field connections, and its factory-terminated connector eliminates soldering at the encoder end while reducing the risk of wiring errors during installation.
On the encoder side, a keyed 7-pin arrangement inside a female MS connector establishes a fixed orientation so the mating plug cannot be inserted incorrectly. The conductor bundle contains 7 leads, comprising separate A and B signal pairs, power and return conductors, and a common shield drain. The controller end has flying leads, allowing each conductor to be routed to screw terminals, insulation-displacement connectors, or welded splices without the restrictions of a fixed plug. Signal transmission uses a differential topology, so each logic transition is carried by a balanced pair that rejects ground-potential shifts and reduces capacitive coupling. This arrangement supports fast encoder outputs while allowing flexible routing within the control cabinet.
Compatibility is limited to the Dynapar H20 and HS35 encoder families, with pin functions, conductor colors, and shielding matched to those encoder housings. The assembly has a no-index configuration, so it carries incremental A and B channels without conductors for a Z-channel reference pulse. The connected encoders use a line driver output stage, and the cable’s twisted-pair construction supports balanced signaling while limiting ringing, overshoot, and interference on extended runs. Systems using this cable obtain relative position and direction information from the quadrature edges, while any required reference position must come from a separate sensor or machine homing routine.
