Product Description:
The 108595-0040 is a factory-terminated cable produced by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It links rotary encoders to motion controllers in industrial automation systems. The assembly arrives ready for routing, eliminating the need for field crimping and maintaining proper connector alignment. It is intended for incremental encoders commonly mounted on motors, conveyors, and roll stands, where stable signal transmission is needed for speed or position monitoring.
The cable is supplied as a complete cable assembly, with the conductors, shielding, and strain relief already installed. On the encoder side, it terminates in a female MS connector that mates directly with the threaded receptacle found on many industrial sensors. The circular interface has a seven-pin contact layout, allowing the harness to carry the A, B, and index channels along with auxiliary power returns. The cable bundle contains six leads connected to the active contacts, while the unused cavity can accommodate an optional shield drain or another channel. Each conductor uses stranded copper sized at 22/24 AWG, providing flexibility while carrying the current required by typical 5 V or 12 V encoder supplies. The installed strain relief supports the cable near the connector and reduces stress on the internal terminations during routing and machine operation.
For controller-side termination, the opposite end includes a mating connector kit that can be attached to a panel jack or field plug compatible with the cabinet connection. Alternatively, the pre-tinned flying leads can be wired directly into terminal blocks when a separate plug is unnecessary. Signal routing uses a single-ended signal scheme, so the channel reference returns share a common ground instead of using complementary differential pairs. Compatible models include H20, H58, and HS35 encoders, with the connector thread and pin arrangement suited to these units. The conductor count supports the required signal and supply paths between the encoder and controller. Shielding helps limit electrical interference when the cable is routed near motors, drives, switching devices, or other industrial equipment.
