Product Description:
The 108594-0010 cable is produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It links incremental encoders to motion controllers or PLC input cards, allowing shaft position and speed signals to travel between connected devices in industrial automation systems. Its connectors and internal wiring are matched to specific Dynapar feedback devices, making the assembly a dedicated encoder interconnect rather than a general-purpose wiring harness.
The assembly uses shielded construction to reduce electromagnetic interference from nearby motors, power conductors, and machine frames. Connector compatibility is limited to the Dynapar H20 and HS35 encoder models, and the connector keyway helps prevent connection to an incompatible receptacle. Signal conductors terminate in a 6-pin layout within a female MS connector on the encoder side. The cable contains five color-coded cores and a wrapped drain wire, providing identifiable conductors while keeping the overall cable diameter compact. Its internal wiring supports the single-ended quadrature output used by the compatible encoders instead of a differential transmission arrangement. The shielding and drain wire provide a path for managing induced electrical noise when the cable is grounded according to the installation requirements.
At the controller end, the jacket is stripped back to expose conductors with a stripped and tinned finish, allowing each core to be secured to terminal blocks or attached to solder lugs. This end uses flying leads instead of a molded plug, so the individual conductors can be routed to the required controller terminals. The cable combines 22 AWG and 24 AWG stranded copper conductors to provide suitable current capacity and flexibility within confined routing channels. The smaller conductors accommodate signal connections, while the larger conductors support circuits that require additional conductor area. Tinned ends help contain the individual copper strands during termination and reduce the chance of loose strands contacting adjacent terminals. The compact conductor arrangement also helps the cable pass through enclosure gland plates and other restricted routing areas without requiring a large opening.
