Product Description:
The 108594-0005 cable is manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It connects incremental encoders such as the H20 or HS35 to drives and controllers within industrial automation systems, carrying incremental channels and auxiliary power in one bundled run. The assembly simplifies field wiring by providing a premolded circular plug on the encoder end and color-coded pigtails on the control-cabinet side. This arrangement reduces termination time and helps prevent cross-connection errors during machine installation.
One end of the cable terminates in a female MS connector that mates directly with the threaded receptacle on H20 and HS35 housings. The plug has 6 positions, so every channel, supply connection, and shield drain has a dedicated contact. At the opposite end, the jacket separates into individual conductors, providing a 5-lead bundle for signal and power distribution; the difference between the lead and pin counts reserves one pin for the cable shield. Signal conductors are made from flexible, stranded tinned copper in 22 AWG and 24 AWG sizes, balancing current capacity with flexibility for tight routing. The control-side breakout uses open-ended flying leads, allowing each conductor to connect to terminal blocks or solder lugs without proprietary hardware. The cable supports single-ended encoder outputs for compatible control interfaces.
The product is supplied as a complete cable assembly, with the outer jacket cut to length so installation is limited to connecting the cabinet-side conductors. Signal integrity is supported by a shielded braid and drain that surround the conductors and reduce electromagnetic interference. The conductor ends are stripped and tinned, allowing them to connect to suitable ferrules, solder terminals, or screw-clamp terminals without additional stripping. Electrical compatibility includes current-sink, open-collector outputs, allowing the harness to carry encoder signals to compatible 24 V interface cards. The preterminated encoder connector provides a secure threaded connection at the motor or machine-mounted feedback device. The separated cabinet-side leads also allow individual signal, supply, and shield connections to be routed to their appropriate terminals.
