Product Description:
The 108241-0100 belongs to the Dynapar Encoder Cables series manufactured by Danaher. It is a dedicated interconnect for rotary or linear encoders, providing the electrical path between feedback devices and motion controllers in industrial automation equipment. By combining signal conductors and shielding in a single assembly, the cable supports accurate transmission of incremental position data while simplifying cable routing and installation.
As a preassembled cable, the unit eliminates field crimping and helps maintain consistent electrical performance along its length. The encoder side terminates in a female MS connector, a threaded circular plug that mates directly with compatible Dynapar sensors and provides a secure connection. Inside the jacket are 6 conductors, providing connections for the A, B, and index channels as well as the required power and reference lines. The cable supports a single-ended output scheme, so each signal channel references a common return rather than using a complementary signal line, making it suitable for compatible legacy drive inputs. Continuous foil and braid coverage make the cable shielded, reducing its susceptibility to electromagnetic interference from adjacent power wiring and variable-frequency drives.
The conductor bundle combines 22 AWG and 24 AWG wires; the larger wire size supports the supply connection, while the smaller wires help limit capacitance for faster signal transitions. The cable provides support for an index pulse, allowing a connected drive to perform homing routines without a separate position sensor. At the controller end, the jacket separates into flying leads, allowing the wires to connect to terminal blocks, solder pads, or screw clamps. The assembly has stripped and tinned conductors, so the individual wire ends can accept soldered or clamped contacts without additional stripping or tinning. A six-pin arrangement on the encoder connector corresponds with the device pin map and accommodates the signal channels, supply connection, and common reference within the available contact layout.
