Product Description:
The 107865-0090 is a cable assembly supplied by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It serves as a dedicated interconnect between rotary encoders and downstream motion controllers, carrying position data and auxiliary signals without additional converters. Classified as a cable accessory, it simplifies field wiring in industrial automation by combining the encoder connector and transmission conductors into one factory-built harness. This integrated arrangement reduces the number of separate components required between the encoder and the control system.
The assembly has a length of 90 ft, allowing the encoder to be placed far from the control cabinet while maintaining signal integrity within the supported transmission distance. Its conductors are sized at 24 AWG, balancing voltage drop with the flexibility needed for routing through industrial machinery. The cable contains 17 cores that accommodate the required encoder signals. It connects to the encoder through an AI25-compatible circular plug fitted with an MS Connector (Female). Inside the connector shell, each pin mates directly with its corresponding conductor, so installation at the encoder requires only alignment and tightening of the coupling nut. The individual wires at the opposite end can be trimmed to the required length and connected to terminal blocks or I/O headers. Standardized pin assignments help maintain the proper relationship between connector contacts and individual conductors during panel wiring.
The electrical output uses a push-pull driver arrangement that sources and sinks current to provide stable logic levels. Data transfer occurs through a parallel interface, allowing the controller to read all position bits simultaneously without the delay associated with serial transmission. The encoder plug has an end-mount configuration rather than an angled body, keeping the cable exit aligned with the connector axis. This straight cable path can simplify routing where space beside the encoder housing is limited. On the controller side, flying leads provide flexible termination options for barrier strips, IDC headers, or custom plug-in terminal modules. The unterminated conductors allow each connection to be routed according to the control panel layout without requiring a fixed controller-side connector.
