Product Description:
The 107865-0075 is an encoder extension cable produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It links optical or magnetic feedback devices to motion controllers, carrying power and incremental or absolute position signals across moving machine members. In industrial automation systems, the assembly maintains shielding continuity and conductor twist so encoder waveforms reach the drive without skew or excessive common-mode noise. These characteristics help reduce position errors when the cable is routed near motors, contactors, spindle power cables, or other sources of electromagnetic interference.
On the encoder side, the unit is supplied as a cable assembly fitted with a 17-pin female MS connector, allowing direct connection to compatible MIL-C-5015 feedback receptacles. The cable is compatible with push-pull signals, so its conductors can carry symmetrical sourcing and sinking levels without external bias resistors. Mechanical retention uses an end-mount layout, allowing the connector shell to sit flush against the encoder end bell. This arrangement minimizes axial overhang and helps prevent the connector and attached cable from interfering with nearby machine components. The circular interface also provides a secure connection for feedback circuits exposed to machine vibration and repeated motion.
The harness contains 17 leads organized into numbered circuits that correspond to the contact map inside the circular connector. Its copper conductors are sized at 24 AWG, providing flexibility while maintaining acceptable voltage drop over typical machine cable lengths. The controller end terminates in flying leads, allowing each conductor to connect to screw terminals, solder cups, or field-crimp connectors as required by the control cabinet layout. PVC insulation supports an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +80 °C, making the cable suitable for standard industrial enclosure conditions. An overall shield extends through the cable jacket to protect signal edges from electromagnetic interference. The shield, conductor arrangement, and flexible lead termination support clean routing between the encoder and motion controller without requiring a fixed connector at the controller end.
