Product Description:
The 107865-0050 is an encoder interconnect cable supplied by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It is intended to route position data from a shaft encoder to control hardware in industrial automation systems. As a dedicated accessory rather than a general-purpose lead set, the cable links a Dynapar rotary encoder to I/O cards or motion controllers so that incremental or absolute position updates reach the PLC without signal loss.
The cable uses a 17-pin layout, allowing each absolute-output channel and its common returns to occupy dedicated conductors. Those conductors terminate on the encoder side in a female MS connector that threads onto the mating shell and seals the interface against contamination. Power and data share the same bundle and travel through 24 AWG copper conductors, which balance current-carrying capacity with the flexibility needed for dynamic runs on moving axes. The encoder presents its parallel data stream to downstream electronics through a parallel push-pull output, so each line actively drives both high and low logic levels to reduce susceptibility to induced electrical noise. Dedicated internal wiring also avoids signal multiplexing and makes individual circuits easier to trace during system diagnostics.
System compatibility centers on the AI25 Absolute Encoder, with pin assignments and shielding geometry aligned with that device’s electrical connections. An end-mount connector orientation simplifies mechanical strain relief by allowing the plug to sit flush against the encoder housing while reducing the required bend at the cable exit. At the controller end, the insulation is stripped to form flying leads, allowing each conductor to terminate directly on terminal blocks or compatible headers without an adapter. The cable follows Dynapar wiring conventions for insulation colors and drain-wire placement, helping maintain consistent conductor identification throughout the feedback circuit. Its connector arrangement supports a secure encoder-side connection while leaving the controller-side termination adaptable to the layout of the control enclosure.
