Product Description:
The 107865-0015 encoder cable is manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It is designed for absolute position feedback devices and carries their parallel output signals to motion controllers in automated machinery. By combining signal, strobe, and power conductors in one assembly, the cable simplifies wiring on conveyors, robotic systems, and packaging stations that depend on immediate position data rather than serial polling. When connected to a compatible Dynapar absolute encoder, the cable helps maintain data integrity across moderate distances inside control cabinets or machine frames.
On the transducer side, the cable terminates in an end-mount shell that houses a keyed female MS connector. The connector provides 17 gold-plated contacts for the channels required by the absolute encoder. Data is delivered through a parallel push-pull interface, allowing the line drivers to source and sink current for improved noise immunity when connected to PLC input cards. The cable supports absolute position feedback, so the encoder provides a fixed digital position value that corresponds to the current shaft position. This feedback method allows the controller to obtain position information after power is restored without requiring the axis to complete a homing routine. The connector body seals against the encoder housing and helps preserve electrical continuity during routine machine vibration.
At the opposite end, the jacket transitions to flying leads, allowing each conductor to be soldered, crimped, or connected to terminal blocks according to the panel layout. The copper conductors are sized at 24 AWG, balancing cable flexibility with voltage-drop control over typical encoder runs. The conductor arrangement supports encoder resolutions of up to 10 or 12 bits, accommodating standard Dynapar parallel-output models while limiting interference between channels. The lead bundle corresponds to the connector’s pin arrangement, and the insulation colors make individual circuits easier to identify during wiring. This open-ended termination also permits the conductors to be routed to separate controller terminals when a preassembled plug is not suitable. Proper termination and shielding practices help protect the low-level feedback signals from nearby motor and power wiring.
