Product Description:
The XSL-CK is a connector and tooling package produced by Copley Controls as part of the Copley Controls Accessories series. It supplies the keyed terminal blocks and ribbon headers required to link servo drives to motor power, feedback, and I/O wiring inside automated cells. By bundling matched connectors with insertion and extraction tools, the kit simplifies field installation and supports consistent, error-free terminations in industrial automation panels. The included components provide organized connection points for power conductors, control signals, and motor feedback cables within a drive cabinet.
Power enters through the J1 block, a 4-position, 7.5 mm female terminal that accepts conductors rated up to 12 AWG and 600 V. The same conductor rating applies to the J2 I/O block, which uses a 4-position, 5.0 mm female plug for logic rails. Motor phase leads connect to the J3 connector, a 5-position, 5.0 mm male header matched to 14 AWG and 600 V cable so drive current can pass without overheating the conductors. Control-side ribbon routing is handled by the J7 interface, which uses a 0.050-inch Mini D Ribbon (MDR) format for encoder and command lines. Each connector designation specifies the contact count, pitch, and connector type, helping users assign the correct housing to each circuit.
Low-level sensor power is routed through the J4 terminal, a 3-position, 5.0 mm female block that accepts 18 AWG wiring for compact leads. The J7 assembly includes one backshell and a 26-position solder-cup body, providing a protected termination point for its ribbon cable. The feedback chain exits through a matching J8 pair with a 20-position solder-cup connection and a dedicated backshell for strain relief. Four wire insertion and extraction tools are also included, allowing contacts to be seated or removed without damaging the spring cages. The backshells support secure cable routing and help protect the terminated signal conductors inside the drive cabinet.
