Product Description:
The BE2-090-020 is a DC-powered servo amplifier produced by Copley Controls for the Accelnet CANopen Modules series. It converts a regulated bus voltage into controlled phase currents for brushless, brushed, or stepper motors used in automated machinery. Integrated CANopen networking allows the amplifier to accept motion commands, report operating status, and coordinate with multiple axes. This distributed control architecture can reduce panel space while supporting synchronized motion across a machine.
The analog reference channel has 12-bit resolution, allowing precise current or velocity setpoints. Each motor phase can sustain 10 Adc of continuous current, while the 16 kHz current-loop frequency helps minimize torque ripple on low-inductance windings. Command logic is supported by 18 optically isolated digital inputs for limit switches, home sensors, and other machine signals. The amplifier also provides 7 sourcing digital outputs for drive-ready flags and related control functions. Incremental encoder feedback supports a 5 MHz maximum line frequency, providing sufficient bandwidth for high-speed linear scales without losing edge fidelity. The internal controller updates the velocity and position loops at 4 kHz to remain synchronized with the faster current regulation.
The drive operates with a 90 Vdc maximum supply voltage. It supports a 20 Adc continuous input current, and its programmable one-second peak ceiling remains at the same level when the line-to-line load inductance exceeds 200 µH. Internal timers automatically limit peak events according to the one-second rating. Encoder emulation drivers can source 500 mA on each channel for downstream controllers. Without the optional heat sink, the chassis measures 172.1 × 119.3 × 44.1 mm and has a 0.68 kg chassis weight, allowing direct installation in confined control cabinets. When continuous power dissipation approaches the input current limit, the baseplate can be clamped to a cooled mounting plate to improve heat transfer.
