The ACK-055-10 is a compact DC-powered servo drive module produced by Copley Controls within the Accelnet CANopen Modules series. Designed for panel or embedded mounting, the module conditions power from a 20 to 55 Vdc bus and delivers controlled current to brushless or brushed servomotors used in gantries, pick-and-place axes, and other automated machinery. By combining CANopen networking with high-frequency PWM current regulation, the unit fits into distributed motion systems where tight coordination and low wiring overhead are required. Its compact format also allows the drive to be mounted close to the motor in space-limited assemblies.
At the power stage, the drive can supply a continuous phase current of 5 Adc, allowing sustained torque production in medium-power servomotors. For transient moves, it raises the delivered current to 10 Adc for one-second bursts, supporting rapid acceleration without exceeding short-term operating limits. Continuous electrical output is rated at 0.18 kW, while short duty peaks reach 0.50 kW during momentary overloads. To accommodate a range of industrial power supplies, the unit accepts up to 55 Vdc on its DC bus, with undervoltage protection beginning below the specified 20 V threshold.
Control bandwidth is set by a 15 kHz current-loop update rate, meaning the PWM regulator recalculates phase duty cycles every 66 µs for fast torque response. Above that layer is a velocity and position controller refreshed at 3 kHz, which supports smooth profiling and stable regulation in medium-resolution motion tasks. The high-speed capture input accepts encoder or step commands up to 2 MHz, enabling direct following of fine-pitch linear scales or micro-stepped indexers. An analog command port presents 5 kΩ differential impedance to minimize source loading, and all electronics reside in a 63.5 × 40.6 × 21.1 mm package that fits into tight multi-axis carriages.
