Product Description:
The 800-1845 is a DC-powered servo drive module produced by Copley Controls within the Accelnet CanOPEN Modules series. Designed for integration on CANopen networks, the module supplies closed-loop current and velocity control to brushless or brushed servo motors used in automated machinery. It converts a low-voltage DC bus into regulated phase currents while providing feedback channels for incremental or analog encoders. The unit executes motion commands from a PLC or motion controller with a precise response, making it suitable for coordinated axes that require accurate torque and speed regulation.
The drive processes differential sine encoders with an amplitude of 1 Vp-p, and its analog input channel has an impedance of 5.05 kΩ to avoid loading the source. Current regulation is updated at 16 kHz, giving the power stage fine control when producing phase currents. For discrete machine signals, the controller provides 11 optically isolated digital inputs that can be mapped to homing, limit, or capture functions. Feedback devices receive regulated power from a dedicated +5 VDC rail capable of delivering 500 mA, allowing direct connection of incremental encoders without external supplies. Setup commands and diagnostic data can also be exchanged over the auxiliary RS-232 port at a maximum rate of 115,200 baud.
DC power can be supplied between +14 VDC and +90 VDC, allowing the module to operate from mobile battery packs or higher-voltage factory buses. The velocity loop executes at 4 kHz, while the internal analog-to-digital converter provides 12-bit resolution for command inputs, supporting smooth torque transitions with the minimum recommended load inductance of 200 µH. The module can operate continuously at temperatures up to +45 °C and in noncondensing humidity levels up to 95%. It also resists mechanical shocks of 110 g and can be stored at temperatures as low as -40 °C. These operating limits support cabinet or onboard installation in machinery exposed to temperature changes, vibration, and rapid motion demands.
