Product Description:
The 800-1652 is part of Copley Controls’ trademark Accelnet Panel series. As a digital servo drive, the 800-1652 operates at a nominal DC voltage range of 20 to 55 V. Unlike other digital drive series by Copley Controls, the Accelnet series does not support AC inputs or systems. As a special DC drive, the 800-1652 offers various types of commands on its interface. Specifically, this digital drive provides CANopen, ASCII, +/-10V, PWM, master encoder, and stepper commands on its interface. In total, it can simultaneously support 12 digital inputs and 3 digital outputs. To communicate with other modules and devices, this unit can utilize CANopen and RS232 communication protocols.
When connected to a compatible DC supply, the 800-1652 can achieve a continuous output current of 3 amperes. At most, the drive can function without issues up to a maximum voltage output of 55 V and a peak output current of 4 amperes. On its input side, however, the current can safely go up to a peak value of 9 A within the recommended DC range of 20 to 55 volts. Like other Accelnet drives manufactured by Copley Controls, the 800-1652 can safely operate at an ambient temperature range of 0 to 45 degrees Celsius during operation. For transport or storage purposes, the drive can safely tolerate a peak temperature of 85 degrees Celsius. At any point in time, however, the change in the ambient temperature must not exceed 10 Kelvin.
The 800-1652 employs a set of status LEDs to inform the user of the current status of the drive. Like all other DC drives by Copley, this digital servo drive can reliably detect fault conditions when they occur.
Frequently Asked Questions about 800-1652:
Q: What type of cooling is compatible with the 800-1652?
A: By default, natural air convection is sufficient for the 800-1652. For other applications, however, a forced air-cooling system or heatsink may optionally be used.
Q: What types of heatsinks are available for Copley’s drives, such as the 800-1652?
A: For Copley’s drives, low-profile heatsinks (HL) or standard heatsinks (HS) can be used to extend the drive’s power and current output range.
Q: What type of protection applies to the 800-1652’s encoder power supply?
A: The 800-1652’s encoder power supply has a current-limiting protection system that halts operation when current exceeds 750 mA at 1 VDC.
Q: What type of RS232 port is present in the 800-1652?
A: The 800-1652 employs a 4-contact RJ-11 modular connector for its RS232 port. Specifically, this type of port has RxD, TxD, and Gnd connection pins.
Q: What type of CAN connector does the 800-1652 use?
A: The 800-1652 employs dual 8-position RJ-45 modular connectors for its CAN interfaces. Specifically, the CAN port includes the CANH, CANL, and GND connection pins.
