The VT-VSPA1K-1-10 proportional amplifier is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VT-VSPA Proportional Amplifiers series. Serving as an interface between a control system and a hydraulic proportional valve, it translates low-level command voltages into regulated coil current, enabling accurate adjustment of flow or pressure in automated machinery. The card supports one solenoid channel, making it suitable for single-axis tasks that require consistent, repeatable response in industrial process control.

It operates from a 24 V DC supply, allowing direct connection to common machine power rails. Incoming and outgoing signals are routed through a 16-pin terminal strip, which simplifies field wiring and maintenance. An internal reference of +9 V is available on the connector, providing a stable source for external potentiometers or remote setpoints. Hardware is packaged in the Master Card form factor, so it fits into card holders used in cabinet assemblies. Operational state is shown by an LED on the front edge, providing visual feedback for power and fault conditions. The module includes current input break detection, helping the control system recognize wiring faults on the command channel. Solenoid cable break detection is also incorporated, enhancing diagnostics for field wiring integrity. The module has no front panel, which conserves enclosure depth and eliminates manual potentiometers.

The input stage follows a 9 V = 100% command scaling convention, so a full-scale reference delivers maximum coil current without additional calibration. For dual-source applications, the second input is Differential, enabling noise-rejecting transmission over shielded pairs. Electrical safeguarding features extend further: Reverse Polarity Protection prevents damage if the supply leads are connected backward, while continuous monitoring for Solenoid Short-circuit conditions removes drive current instantly to protect the amplifier and the valve.
