The VT-MRPA2-1-11a is a rail-mounted proportional amplifier produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-VSPA Proportional Amplifiers series. It drives two solenoids of a 4WRE 6 directional valve by converting low-level command voltages into controlled coil current, allowing PLCs to regulate hydraulic flow without mechanical adjustments. Within an automation cabinet, this module forms the interface between the motion controller and the valve. It shapes current in real time so that the actuated spool provides precise 4/3 metering of pressure and flow.
The module operates from a nominal 24 VDC source and interprets a differential reference of ±10 V as its command signal. Each output channel can deliver a maximum of 2.5 A, which is sufficient to shift the matched directional valve while protecting the coil windings. Signal integrity at the input is maintained by a minimum resistance of 50 kΩ, which minimizes loading on upstream analog cards. The internal electronics consume a maximum of 24 VA, an important consideration when sizing the cabinet power supply and estimating heat dissipation. An onboard oscillator supplies 10 V at 10 mA so that dither can be injected into the control signal. This dither reduces static friction in the valve and improves spool-positioning repeatability during small command changes.
The housing snaps onto a TH 35-7.5 rail, and field wiring connects through 12 screw terminals. The assembly has an IP20 protection rating, providing finger-safe construction for installation inside indoor enclosures. Its width of 40 mm, height of 79 mm, and depth of 85.5 mm help conserve mounting space within the cabinet. The narrow housing also allows the amplifier to be installed beside other control modules without requiring a wide section of mounting rail. Separate field connections provide organized routing for the command input, supply conductors, and solenoid outputs. The rail attachment supports straightforward installation while keeping the amplifier securely positioned during normal machine vibration.
