Product Description:
The 109-0997-3A13-02 is a signal conditioning and interface card from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the VT-UK2 Universal Cards series. Installed in control racks, the card converts analog and encoder information into digital formats that higher-level motion controllers can process for closed-loop positioning. By combining analog acquisition, incremental outputs, modulo tracking, and SSI communication on a single board, it simplifies the integration of rotary tables and linear axes in industrial automation.
The board draws a regulated 5 V logic rail at 175 mA, while its I/O section uses a separate 24 V field supply limited to 100 mA. The ±10 V analog input accepts servo feedback signals and, with a resolution of 0.3 mV, can detect fine voltage changes for precise position error measurement. The conversion path supports a rise and fall time of 100 ns, so step responses are not distorted by internal slew limits. When encoder mode is selected, the incremental output stage supplies 40 mA per channel and can switch at 1 MHz without pulse degradation. This bandwidth lets the controller follow high-speed rotary encoders and supports consistent edge placement in CNC, pick-and-place, or packaging equipment.
In modulo tracking mode, the processor outputs an 18-bit word, and the latch provides 262,144 increments for each table rotation so wraparound events remain predictable. For absolute feedback, the card supports a 24-bit + PFB synchronous serial interface, and its register can store positional information for up to 4,096 mechanical revolutions. Within each turn, the SSI channel sends 4,096 increments, and the bit stream uses Gray code to minimize transition errors. The SSI drivers supply up to 40 mA, while the dedicated TVW port delivers 100 mA to external transducers. The incremental interface accommodates encoders that provide pulse-based position data. The absolute and modulo functions support cyclic positioning tasks within a compact control slot.
