The VT 2000S4X-2E is a plug-in proportional amplifier card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT 2000 Proportional Amplifiers series. Installed in valve control racks, the card converts command voltages into regulated coil current so that hydraulic proportional valves follow reference signals in automated machinery, presses, or test stands. By providing closed-loop current control on a compact Eurocard footprint, the module simplifies integration of electro-hydraulic axes into larger motion or process control systems.
The amplifier can deliver up to 300 mA of bias current, a preset value used to center the valve spool before modulation begins. Its Eurocard outline of 100 × 160 mm allows direct insertion into standard 3U card cages powered by a system bus at 24 VDC. Field wiring is completed through a 32-pin male connector that follows the DIN 41612 Form D pattern, ensuring consistent pin assignments across the VT 2000 family. Overcurrent protection is handled by an onboard 2.5 A T fuse, while the power stage can drive a proportional solenoid with up to 800 mA; the recommended coil has a resistance of 19.5 Ω to match this drive level. The card draws less than 1 A from the rack supply and generates its own ±9 V reference rails, each regulated at ±25 mA. Test points follow a 1 mV = 1 mA scale, making loop calibration straightforward with a standard multimeter.
A lower limit of 22 V keeps regulation stable, and an upper threshold of 35 V protects the circuitry from accidental oversupply. This helps preserve consistent valve response when rack supply voltage varies within the permitted range. Overall energy demand stays below 25 VA, minimizing heat load inside densely packed cabinets. With a mass of only 0.1 kg, the card adds very little mechanical load to the rack and edge connector. The module is suited for compact control cabinets where stable proportional-valve current regulation is required.
