The VT 2000 S48/2 proportional amplifier is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the VT 2000 Proportional Amplifiers series. It conditions low-level command signals and regulates current to a hydraulic valve solenoid so that flow or pressure can be varied smoothly inside automated machinery. By converting voltage references into precisely scaled coil currents, the card lets a PLC or analog controller modulate actuator force without mechanical adjustments.
Normal operation is supported by a 24 VDC supply, with the electronics remaining active down to the 22 V lower limit. Current drawn from the cabinet supply is <1 A, and total power consumption is <25 VA, simplifying thermal planning. Internally, the board generates a regulated ±9 V rail for signal processing. The command input accepts a full-scale level of 6 V, and this range is translated to coil current using a scaling factor of 1 mV = 1 mA. Separate feedback channels permit a 9 V full-scale signal on input 1 and a 10 V signal on input 2, while the second channel presents an impedance of 100 kΩ to protect upstream sources. The solenoid circuit is matched to 19.5 Ω at 20 °C, allowing accurate current control without excessive heat.
The output voltage can reach 35 V, maintaining stable solenoid drive when battery-backed supplies operate above their nominal voltage. The amplifier can deliver a peak solenoid current of 800 mA for fast valve shifts, and it provides a bias current that can be adjusted to 300 mA to offset spring preload or gravitational load. Overcurrent protection is provided by a plug-in fuse rated at F 2.5 A T, so a shorted coil can clear the fuse without damaging the board traces. These electrical capabilities support proportional valve control in presses, plastics machinery, and other industrial systems where smooth adjustment of hydraulic flow or pressure is required.
