The VT 2000 S47/2 is a proportional amplifier card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT 2000 Proportional Amplifiers series. It conditions low-level command signals and delivers regulated current to hydraulic solenoids, allowing valves to track an electrical setpoint in industrial automation. The single-board format lets it slide into standard 19-inch racks, providing a compact method for precise fluid-power control. This arrangement supports proportional valve operation in machinery that requires controlled hydraulic pressure, direction, or flow.
The card occupies a Eurocard footprint of 100 × 160 mm and connects to a backplane through a 32-pin male DIN 41612 Form D connector. The nominal supply bus is 24 VDC, while the input stage tolerates voltages from 22 V to 35 V, helping prevent dropouts or damage during line fluctuations. A 2.5 A time-lag fuse is installed on the board for machine protection, and total current draw remains below 1 A under normal load. Internal sense points include a 1 kΩ measuring socket that permits observation of coil current without opening the circuit. The regulator section provides ±9 V reference rails and can supply ±25 mA to external potentiometers. Typical solenoid coils connected to this amplifier have a resistance of 19.5 Ω, which is matched to the driver’s damping network.
A bias network supplies 300 mA to offset valve springs before the command signal begins. During full stroke, the power stage can deliver 800 mA of regulated coil current without saturation. Even at this output, the board’s apparent power demand is limited to 25 VA, helping keep cabinet temperatures moderate. At the input, the differential summing node has an impedance of 100 kΩ, allowing voltage sources to drive the card through long shielded cables without excessive loading. The module has a mass of only 0.1 kg, so it places little mechanical load on the rack guides. Its low mass also reduces stress on the backplane connector when the card is installed in machinery exposed to routine vibration.
