The VT 2000 S 48-2 is a plug-in proportional amplifier card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT 2000 Proportional Amplifiers series. Installed in a modular rack, the board conditions command signals and supplies controlled current to hydraulic valve solenoids, allowing closed-loop force or position control in industrial automation systems. Its printed circuit design supports modular installation, and onboard trimmers allow bias and gain adjustment without adding external signal-conditioning hardware. The lightweight 0.1 kg construction also helps keep cabinet loading low.

The board uses the Eurocard format and measures 100 x 160 mm. Electrical connection is made through a 32-pin male DIN 41612 Form D connector on the card edge, which suits standardized rack mounting. With a nominal supply of 24 VDC, the amplifier draws less than 1 A, and total power demand remains below 25 VA, so natural cabinet convection is usually sufficient for cooling. The output stage can deliver up to 800 mA of controlled solenoid current, which suits valves with a coil resistance of 19.5 ohms at 20 °C. Overcurrent protection is provided by a front-mounted F 2.5 A T fuse, while the 128.4 mm front panel provides space for test jacks and adjustment potentiometers. On the solder side, a 5.08 mm track spacing helps maintain creepage distance.

Stable operation is maintained from 22 V to 35 V, which provides margin for battery-backed supplies and voltage drop across longer cable runs. The internal regulator keeps output accuracy within ±25 mA of the set current and maintains auxiliary reference lines at ±9 V, helping valve response remain consistent during line fluctuations. A separate channel can supply as much as 300 mA of bias current for offset adjustment. Protective diodes reduce inductive kick when the driver releases stored energy, and the electrical layout helps limit thermal stress on the PCB during normal operation.
