The VT 2000 S 42 is a plug-in proportional amplifier card from Bosch Rexroth Indramat's VT 2000 Proportional Amplifiers series. Installed in control racks, it conditions command and feedback signals so that a hydraulic proportional solenoid follows the input precisely, allowing automated pressure or flow adjustments inside industrial machinery. By converting a low-level voltage reference into a controlled current, the card forms the electrical interface between a PLC and the valve coil.

The card's supply window stretches from the 22 V lower limit to the 35 V upper limit, with normal operation centered on a 24 VDC nominal line. Internal regulation delivers a bipolar output of ±9 V for sensor or potentiometer circuits, while the drive stage produces a tightly controlled current of ±25 mA for the solenoid. This matches the 19.5 Ω coil so that full stroke is reached without overheating. A time-lag fuse rated at 2.5 A protects the supply rail, and the amplifier tolerates momentary inrush currents without nuisance trips. The regulated ranges prevent drift when line voltage sags or rises, ensuring command accuracy throughout extended duty cycles.

Physically, the unit follows the Eurocard format with a 100 × 160 mm board that occupies three TE of component-side width and only 5.08 mm on the solder side, making it easy to stack multiple cards in a densely packed rack. All signals and power enter through a 32-pin male connector built to DIN 41612 Form D, and a screened front panel measuring 128.4 mm in height gives access to test points and trim pots. The slow-blow 2.5 A T fuse is holder-mounted on the front edge.
