The VT 2000-52 proportional amplifier is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the VT 2000 Proportional Amplifiers series. Installed in standardized Eurocard racks, the module conditions command voltages and produces a regulated current. That current drives directional or pressure-control solenoids in hydraulic motion loops used throughout automated machining lines and press controls. The card is intended for closed-loop hydraulic control, where stable coil current affects spool position and pressure response.
The amplifier accepts a nominal supply of 24 VDC, and its onboard circuitry limits steady output to 800 mA so the connected valve coil is not overheated. During internal operation, the board itself can draw up to 1 A, so the supply must cover that demand. A separate bias path permits up to 300 mA of preload current, allowing the operating point to be shifted without changing the command signal. Closed-loop stabilization is referenced to a regulated rail of ±9 V, which keeps the dither and ramp generators independent of line variations. The actual current scale is 1 mV per mA, so live solenoid current can be read directly with a voltmeter on the test pins. This arrangement helps maintain predictable valve behavior when the command signal changes during operation. The coil is matched to 19.5 Ω, and input 2 presents 100 kΩ of impedance to avoid loading small signal sources.
Physically, the card occupies a 100 × 160 mm Eurocard slot and is protected on the front by a 128.4 mm × 20 mm panel. All field and supply connections are routed through a 32-pin male DIN 41612-D header, simplifying rack removal and keeping the wiring interface concentrated at the rear connection point. System protection is handled by a time-lag fuse rated at 2.5 A T, while total power draw is capped at 25 VA to help contain cabinet heat. The module’s bias and command potentiometers are accessible on the front plate for direct adjustment during setup and signal matching.
