Installed in a protected cabinet, the unit supplies processing power for machine visualization, recipe handling, and motion coordination while linking operator panels and field devices to higher-level networks in automated factories. As part of a scalable architecture, it bridges real-time control buses with standard Ethernet so Windows-based control software can manage both machine functions and operator interaction from one cabinet-mounted platform. It can coordinate operator displays, stored recipes, and control data without placing the computer directly on the machine. Cabinet mounting also helps isolate the electronics from open production areas where dust or accidental contact may be present.

The computer runs from a 24 V DC supply. A Celeron 440 processor running at 2 GHz works with 1024 MB of RAM to execute Windows XP and user applications.
