It serves as a panel-mounted human-machine interface that presents process data, alarms, and command inputs directly on the machine faceplate. This arrangement gives the control system a local point for visualization and manual operation, and it lets the user interact with the machine without relying on a separate remote display. The terminal is intended for installation where operating status and command entry need to remain available at the point of use.
The display is a 12 in diagonal panel that uses a TFT matrix and shows up to 256,000 colors. Its native 800 x 600 resolution supports detailed graphics without scaling artifacts, which helps menus, status pages, and process views remain clear on the screen. Sixteen machine function keys line the bottom bezel to compensate for the lack of a touch screen, so tactile shortcuts remain available for frequent commands. This keyed interface is useful where repeatable input is preferred over touch-based navigation.
