Product Description:
The VPB40.4D2P-16GNN-D8D-HN-NN-FW is an embedded computer produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VPB IndraControl PC Units series. Mounted inside machine control cabinets, it serves as the central platform for motion logic, visualization, and field-level networking in automated production lines. By combining PC processing with industrial connectors, it links directly to Rexroth drives and decentralized I/O without requiring a separate PLC.
At its core, an Intel Core i7-6820EQ, 2.80 GHz processor handles deterministic control cycles and user-interface tasks. The system carries 16 GB of DDR4 memory so code bases and real-time databases remain resident without paging. The unit includes 2 x PCIe expansion slots that accept add-on boards up to 175 mm long, providing room for fieldbus or vision interfaces. The dual on-board Ethernet controllers operate at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, and two RJ45 ports can be assigned separate MAC addresses for real-time traffic and plant IT. A regulated input of 24 V DC allows the unit to share cabinet power rails. A cable length of up to 100 m lets the PC be mounted away from switches, and the control panel interface uses the CDI+ protocol on its own keyed connector. The design includes no internal optical or magnetic drive.
For operator interaction, a dedicated CDI+ link presented on a single 1 x RJ45 socket attaches directly to compatible IndraControl panels, while graphics output is delivered over DisplayPort to support FHD and 4 K monitors. Six 6 x USB connections provide attachment points for service keyboards, data loggers, and maintenance dongles. Process data and the operating system reside on a 2.5 in, 192 GB SSD, producing fast cold-start recovery and low power draw. The separate panel and video connections support either an IndraControl operator panel or a standard external monitor.
