Product Description:
The VPB40.4D2N-16GNN-D8D-HN-NN-FW is a cabinet-mounted industrial PC built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the VPB IndraControl PC Units series. Designed to act as the central processing node inside motion and PLC architectures, the unit hosts machine visualization, fieldbus routing, and deterministic control tasks for automated lines. It integrates into IndraControl HMIs through a dedicated panel link and provides the computing resources required for servo drive coordination and high-level user programs in packaging, printing, or assembly equipment. This arrangement allows one cabinet device to support both control functions and operator interaction without adding a separate machine computer.
It is powered by an Core i7-6820EQ quad-core processor running at 2.80 GHz, giving deterministic multitasking capability for soft-real-time control loops. The platform mates this CPU with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM so multiple visualization clients and fieldbus stacks can execute concurrently without swapping. Internal power draw is limited to 150 W, allowing installation in passively cooled enclosures supplied from a single 24 V DC source. For local expansion, the motherboard carries one PCI slot and one PCIe slot and accepts add-in cards up to 175 mm long, while separate mPCIe and mSATA sockets support compact I/O or storage modules without using the main backplane.
The PC communicates with remote devices through two RJ45 connectors supporting 10/100/1000 MBit/s Ethernet, enabling segmented control and diagnostic networks. Operator terminals dock via the CDI+ control-panel interface, and high-resolution monitors attach through an integrated DisplayPort. Permanent data resides on a 2.5 in SSD, and six external USB ports allow service tools or removable media to connect at the cabinet front. An IP20 housing limits ingress of solid objects larger than 12 mm, so the computer is intended for protected control cabinets rather than exposed machine areas.
