Product Description:
The VPB40.4D1P-16GNN-D8D-HN-NN-FW is an industrial PC from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the VPB IndraControl PC Units series. Designed for cabinet installation, it supplies deterministic computing power to motion controllers and visualization panels on automated production lines. The unit belongs to product line 40 and connects to remote displays through the Control Display Interface. This arrangement allows the processing hardware to remain in a protected enclosure while the operator panel is mounted on the machine.
An Intel Core i7-6820EQ processor anchors the hardware platform. Its base frequency of 2.80 GHz handles standard PLC cycles, while Turbo Boost increases single-thread performance to 3.50 GHz for transient processing loads. The CPU works with the Intel QM170 chipset, which supports two PCIe slots for expansion cards and an internal backplane that accepts one USB 3.0 header, one mSATA module, and one mPCIe board. The system is equipped with 16 GB of memory, and a 100 GB SSD stores the real-time operating system and application code. Four USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports are available on the front for service tools, while a single DisplayPort supports an external monitor. No optical or magnetic drive is installed, reducing the number of vibration-sensitive components. Dual RJ45 connections support 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet networks for fieldbus gateways or development stations.
The control cabinet supplies 24 VDC to the industrial PC, and its electronics draw up to 150 W under peak computational load. The metal housing carries an IP20 rating, so the surrounding cabinet must provide protection against dust and liquids. The DisplayPort output supports a maximum resolution of 4K, making it suitable for high-definition human-machine interfaces. Display data can also be transmitted to the connected operator panel without special adapters. The absence of additional special interfaces simplifies cable routing inside the cabinet and leaves the available expansion connections accessible for motion cards, storage devices, or proprietary communication modules.
