Installed directly inside machine cabinets, the unit serves as the computational core for motion control, HMI, and data processing tasks that coordinate drives and field devices on automated production lines. By using standard PC architecture and Rexroth’s real-time operating environment, it replaces separate PLCs and visualization terminals with a single embedded platform for coordinated machine control.

Inside the chassis, a Core i5-520M processor runs at 2.4 GHz, providing dual-core multithreading capability for real-time control sequences. The system’s 2 GB of DDR3 memory supports local buffering of program code and diagnostic logs, while a 320 GB HDD provides nonvolatile storage for operating system images and production recipes. Network connectivity is available through 2 × 1 Gbit/s Ethernet ports that permit high-speed exchange with PLCs and supervisory servers.
