Product Description:
The VPB40.3D1L-2G0NN-D4D-DN-NN-FW is an industrial PC unit engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VPB IndraControl PC Units series. Installed directly inside machine cabinets, the unit serves as the computational core for motion control, HMI, and data processing tasks that coordinate drives and field devices on automated production lines. By using standard PC architecture and Rexroth’s real-time operating environment, it replaces separate PLCs and visualization terminals with a single embedded platform for coordinated machine control.
Inside the chassis, a Core i5-520M processor runs at 2.4 GHz, providing dual-core multithreading capability for real-time control sequences. The system’s 2 GB of DDR3 memory supports local buffering of program code and diagnostic logs, while a 320 GB HDD provides nonvolatile storage for operating system images and production recipes. Network connectivity is available through 2 × 1 Gbit/s Ethernet ports that permit high-speed exchange with PLCs and supervisory servers. Six USB 2.0 interfaces support service tools or peripheral sensors, and two PCI expansion slots allow motion cards or fieldbus adapters to be added without changing the enclosure dimensions. A SATA controller interfaces the disk, supporting recipe updates and event logging without delaying cyclic tasks. The platform commonly runs Windows-based runtimes.
The unit draws control power from a 24 V DC source, and its electronics dissipate up to 160 W, so cabinet cooling must be sized accordingly. An IP20 housing guards the circuitry against accidental finger contact and settled dust, while mechanical resilience is verified for 15 g shock loads and 1 g of continuous vibration during operation. The steel case measures 205 mm in height, 181 mm in length, and 110 mm in width, yet weighs only 2.6 kg, easing panel-mount installation alongside drives and I/O terminals in dense control cabinets.
