As a panel-mountable control computer, it hosts machine-level human-machine interface tasks and executes PLC code that coordinates motion axes and fieldbus networks on the factory floor. The compact module is intended for installation inside electrical enclosures, where it links operator terminals with drives, sensors, and supervisory systems and provides deterministic processing for real-time automation.

At the core of the unit is a Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz processor that provides processing power for logic, visualization, and communication services. Its 2 GB of RAM stores the operating system, user programs, and buffer data so deterministic cycle times are maintained even with multiple fieldbus connections. The computer draws control power from a 24 VDC supply and consumes up to 160 W, so the cabinet power source and thermal management must be sized accordingly.
