The hardware hosts the operating system and control software while external operator panels connect through its dedicated display interface, allowing decentralized visualization without exposing electronics to plant-floor contaminants. In this role, the VPB module coordinates drives, I/O, and network traffic within an integrated automation environment. This arrangement keeps the computer protected inside the cabinet while allowing a connected display to present machine status, alarms, and operator commands at the point of use.
A front-panel 25-pin D-Sub Female connector routes video, touchscreen data, and power to a compatible panel so that installation requires only one shielded cable. The computer is approved for operation at altitudes up to 2000 m and within an ambient temperature range from +5 °C to +45 °C; this range aligns with climatic class 3K3. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe protection but does not seal against liquid entry.
