The VPB40.1G5A-1G0NN-M3D-BE-NN-FW is a PC-based control unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VPB IndraControl PC Units series. Installed in a cabinet and linked over the proprietary G5 operator-panel interface, it supplies computing resources for VDP 16, VDP 40, and VDP 60 display stations, allowing HMI screens to be mounted remotely while the electronics stay in a protected environment. In automated cells, it handles visualization, recipe data, and motion sequences, acting as the bridge between field I/O networks and higher-level plant systems.

The unit operates from a DC 24 V supply and distributes process data through an Ethernet socket specified as RJ45, 10/100Base-T. For legacy controllers, it has 3 × RS232, 1 × RS422 ports, and both display and printer links use a 25-pin D-Sub connector, with one connection routed to the screen and the other to the parallel interface. Graphics output for conventional monitors is available on a 15-pin HD-Sub VGA jack.
