Product Description:
The RHO4.1 is an industrial control PC produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VPB IndraControl PC Units series. It serves as the central processor in automated machines, coordinating motion axes, operator interfaces, and plant networks. Housed as an open-frame assembly for cabinet installation, the unit brings the CPU, memory, and field connections together, allowing a compact computer to be installed next to drives and power supplies. The housing measures 448 × 132 × 256 mm, so it fits readily on standard subpanels and leaves clearance for airflow.
Internal expandability is provided by 2 PCI + 1 PCI/ISA slots, allowing auxiliary fieldbus or data-acquisition boards to be installed. Standard networking is handled through an Ethernet port that terminates at an 8-pin RJ45 connector. The interface operates at the legacy 10BaseT rate and supports segment lengths up to 100 m when Category 5 cabling is used. The four RS-232 channels permit direct connections to barcode readers, simple drives, or maintenance laptops. A single parallel port supports legacy printers or I/O modules, while an LVDS header allows operator panels to be placed up to 10 m from the controller.
The platform is designed for uninterrupted 24-hour-per-day operation. It issues an overtemperature alarm at 50 °C, providing advance warning before automatic shutdown occurs at 65 °C. Operation is permitted at altitudes up to 2000 m, and the 3K3 climate classification indicates that the electronics can withstand typical cabinet humidity without condensation. The IP00 protection grade means live parts remain accessible until the PC is installed inside a suitable panel enclosure. Two 6 V batteries retain BIOS settings and real-time clock data when power is removed. An internal uninterruptible power supply buffer keeps the system operating for 800 ms, allowing the operating system to perform an orderly shutdown.
