The keyboard operates from a regulated supply of 5 V ±5% and draws only 30 mA, so it can be powered directly from typical controller logic rails without a dedicated supply. Data is exchanged over a Mini-DIN PS/2 interface, which supports connection to legacy HMIs that already use standard PS/2 ports. The keyboard provides 85 keys in a short-stroke matrix, giving users full character access for recipe names, diagnostic text, and menu navigation.
