By integrating alphanumeric, numeric, and function keys into a shallow housing, the unit serves as the primary human-machine interface for parameter entry and system command confirmation.

This keyboard is powered from a control cabinet’s logic bus through a regulated 5 V ±5% supply, and its electronics draw only 30 mA, reducing the load on backplane power supplies. Signal exchange with the controller takes place over a Mini-DIN PS/2 interface with 6 molded connector pins, allowing direct connection to industrial PCs without protocol conversion.
