The TDM1.2 300-W1 is a servo drive module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the TDM Servo Drive Modules series. In an automation cell, it converts DC-bus energy into phase-controlled motor currents while processing encoder feedback so axes can follow velocity or position commands with the required accuracy. An air gap of 80 mm must be left above and below the module so the integrated fan can exhaust the 30 VA of cooling power without recirculation. This spacing helps maintain airflow through the heat sink when several modules are mounted in the same cabinet.

Mechanical connections on the power bus are tightened to 3 Nm, and the drive housing is rated for a cabinet temperature up to 45 °C; beyond this point, current must be derated once the ambient reaches 55 °C. For installations up to 1000 m above sea level, the output ratings remain unchanged. The enclosure carries a protection category of IP10, so it provides guarded access to live parts but does not provide dust or water sealing. Because of that enclosure level, the unit must be installed inside a control cabinet rather than used in an exposed machine location. Internally, the ±15 V supply rails draw 60 mA on the negative side and 140 mA on the positive rail to power signal-conditioning circuits.

Encoder cabling terminates on 1 mm² screw terminals, and the matched feedback wires use 0.5 mm² conductors to keep loop impedance low. The motor leads are clamped with a torque of 5 Nm to maintain low-resistance joints during vibration. For over-temperature lockout, the thermostat contact references a control input that is isolated up to 220 V, allowing connection to standard relay logic. Insulation category C supports operation at elevated winding temperatures, and the heatsink thermostat switches its dry contact at 1 A when that thermal limit is approached. Keeping the encoder and motor wiring separated in this way helps preserve signal quality while the power stage handles changing load current.
