The TDM 2.4-050-220-300-W is a servo drive module from the TDM Servo Drive Modules series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It converts three-phase mains power into a controlled DC link and pulse-width-modulated output that governs the torque and speed of matched synchronous or asynchronous servo motors in automated machinery cells, transfer lines, and material-handling stations. This arrangement allows the drive to support precise axis regulation during speed changes, indexing moves, and repeatable positioning tasks.

This unit accepts an input of 3 x 220 V AC at the standard industrial supply range of 50/60 Hz, which is rectified and buffered to a DC link held at 300 V DC. A built-in blower provides forced-air cooling and helps keep the internal power stage within its operating limits while sustaining a momentary output crest of 60 kW for rapid acceleration commands. The electronics section draws 550 VA during normal operation, and internal dissipation is limited to 130 W, allowing installation in shared cabinets without excessive heat rise. Control electronics supply rails deliver 1.3 A on the +15 V line and 1.0 A on the −15 V line for encoders, sensors, and amplifier logic, while the overall assembly weight of 15 kg supports straightforward panel mounting.

An integrated bleeder transistor routes surplus DC-link energy to a resistor that can absorb up to 10 kW in short bursts or 0.45 kW continuously. The drive’s DC link supports a continuous throughput of 7.5 kW and can store 14 kWs of regenerated energy before the bleeder engages, which improves braking response in cyclic applications. External 24 V control circuits may draw up to 8 A from the auxiliary connector, keeping field I/O active during mains outages. A cabinet rating of IP10 indicates finger-safe openings while relying on the enclosure for overall sealing.
