The TDM 1.2-050-300-W1-115 servo drive module is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the TDM Servo Drive Modules series. Designed for cabinet installation in multi-axis machining centers and material-handling lines, this unit supplies regulated DC power and current loops to Indramat servo motors. By converting a fixed three-phase supply into a controlled armature current, it provides velocity and position control for tasks that require repeatable dynamic motion.
The drive maintains a continuous motor phase current of 45 A, allowing it to deliver up to 15 kW of mechanical power without thermal derating under forced-air cooling from its built-in fan. An internal DC link rated at 300 VDC stores regenerated energy and supplies the output stage; at this bus voltage the module draws 60 mA from the −15 V rail and 140 mA from the +15 V rail for its control electronics. The cooling fan operates from a dedicated supply of 115 VAC and requires 30 VA, so panel builders must provide an auxiliary feeder. For transient moves or rapid deceleration the current loop can rise momentarily to 50 A, a value that also defines the type current printed on the nameplate. Reliable operation is specified up to an ambient temperature of 55 °C and the stated thermal limits assume unobstructed airflow through the fan shroud.
Heat produced by switching devices is limited to 250 W at full continuous load, a figure that the built-in fan expels into the cabinet plenum. Because the enclosure is rated only IP10, it must be mounted in a filtered electrical cabinet yet kept below the specified ceiling altitude of 1000 m so the fan can maintain its designed airflow. The module weighs 10 kg, permitting single-person installation on a DIN rail or sub-plate while still leaving space for line filters and contactors that satisfy system EMC and isolation requirements.
