Product Description:
The TDM 1.2-030-W1-000 drive module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the TDM Servo Drive Modules series. It is a transistorized amplifier that receives DC energy from an external supply and converts it into a regulated three-phase output for synchronous or asynchronous servo motors. By responding to velocity and position commands from an Indramat controller, the unit regulates motor torque during cutting, indexing, or pick-and-place cycles in automated machinery. This control arrangement allows the connected motor to follow changing motion commands while the drive manages the required output current.
The module delivers a continuous motor current of 30 A, which corresponds to a continuous motor output of 9 kW when it is paired with a compatible motor. Its power section is connected to a DC bus operating at 300 V, and energy from the shared supply is switched to the motor through the power stage. Heat created by switching losses is removed through forced ventilation. The cooling fan receives power from a source within the unit, so it does not require an auxiliary fan supply. The IP10 enclosure protects against access by objects measuring 50 mm or more but does not provide water protection, so the module requires installation inside a closed electrical cabinet. The interface electronics provide up to 15 mA on each ±15 V external supply rail. They also support signal currents of 60 mA at −15 V and 140 mA at +15 V for compatible analog feedback devices.
Total internal power loss is 190 W, so cabinet airflow must remove the generated heat to maintain acceptable component temperatures. The stated ratings apply at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level; lower air density above this elevation reduces cooling performance and requires current derating. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, after which the module must be shut down to prevent excessive thermal stress. The drive weighs 10 kg, allowing it to be secured with standard cabinet mounting hardware. Adequate clearance around the ventilation path is necessary to prevent nearby wiring or equipment from restricting airflow through the module.
