The TDA 1.3-050-3-AP0 main spindle controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth must be fitted only in properly sealed control cabinets if cooling systems are used. The drives of this spindle controller feature three types of electrical connections. These electrical connections are determined by the functions associated with the product. The device must be placed as close as possible to the supply module. The earthing cable used to ground the unit with the supply module must have a conductor cross-section of at least 10mm². It features a 35A continuous effective current rating. The controller uses a programming module for matching the main spindle motor as well as to generate the operating characteristics of the drive.

The drives of this main spindle controller are controlled by a microprocessor. These drives must be connected and commissioned properly for an immediate startup without further matching. The product comprises a rating plate that is fitted on its front panel and remains visible all the time. This device should always be kept dry during the process of transportation. It must be fitted securely with the programming module on its top right corner using a knurled screw before the commissioning is done. The unit does not have any additional interface. The controller comes equipped with an extra encoder input for the second motor feedback signal or spindle feedback. The product must only be installed as per the manufacturer’s circuit diagram. The drive comes to a standstill when there is a fault and the power supply is cut OFF. The master switch of the device should be secured against reconnection during any repair work.
