Product Description:
The SM 25/50-TCT is an AC inverter module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the SM AC Inverters series. It interfaces between a DC supply and induction or synchronous motors to regulate speed and torque in automated machinery, conveying the commanded power with closed-loop current monitoring. The module is intended for cabinet integration and can be combined with other SM units to build multi-axis drive assemblies common in packaging lines, material handling stations, and light process equipment.
With a continuous output of 25 A and a short-duration peak of 50 A, the inverter adapts to both steady and transient load demands. Correct cable termination is maintained by applying 3.7 N·m to each power connection screw, preventing loose joints under vibration. The aluminum heatsink rises along the chassis to a height of 39.3 cm, while the overall mass is 7 kg, permitting vertical panel mounting without auxiliary supports. An internal analog scale of 0–10 V corresponds to Imax on the current monitor, so drive load can be read directly with a standard meter. The control board accepts a 24 VDC reset signal that clears fault latches without cycling the main supply, and the mechanical envelope measures 31.8 cm in length, giving space for airflow between adjacent modules.
Thermal supervision is handled by two fixed limits. A heatsink sensor trips at 80 °C, and a separate motor-embedded probe triggers overtemperature at 145 °C, ensuring silicon devices and winding insulation remain within safe ranges. Up to 10 SM modules may be connected to a single supply section, so multi-axis systems can share a bus capacitor bank without derating. Cabinet planning is simplified by the narrow face width of 5 cm, which lets several axes be arranged in tight rows while keeping airflow clearance.
