The SD-B5.380.012-04.000 is a permanent-field servomotor launched by Bosch Rexroth. The motor is intended for inverter operation. The device supports electronic commutation. The rotor of the unit consists of permanent magnets made of ferrite. The product features tacho and commutation sensors to recognize the position of its rotor. The device can be used for different types of mechanical and electrical-related industrial applications. The motor is designed especially for industrial use. There is a type label attached to the motor’s housing.

The SD motor has a brushless tacho. The device has an IP 54 protection class as per DIN 040 050 / 40 053 specifications. The unit can be installed vertically only in the IM V3 orientation. In the case of IM V3 orientation, care should be taken to ensure that no fluid remains in the flange end plate. The unit is not equipped with an in-built encoder. Customization is not possible. The unit has a vibration quality level of N in accordance with DIN ISO 2373. The maximum noise rating of the product at a distance of 1.0 m is 64 dB (A).

The SD motor portrays insulation class F as per VDE 0530. The unit is cooled by thermal radiation and natural convection. The product features a permanent magnet disk brake that operates on the basis of the fail-safe principle. The control voltage for releasing the brake is 24 V DC ± 5%. The disk brake cannot be reliably released if the voltage tolerance is not followed. It should be noted that the disk brake isn’t a working brake. The brake should be inspected once every 1000 emergency stop braking operations. The motor has high resistance against demagnetization. Its admissible peak torque is three times the rated torque.
