Product Description:
The SE301 is a tightening controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the SB System Box Units series. In an automated assembly line, it supervises multiple electric nutrunners, measures torque and angle, and communicates those results to a higher-level PLC so fastening quality can be verified in real time. By integrating into the series architecture, the unit serves as the central logic element for spindle groups, coordinating process data, power distribution, and diagnostic feedback required for repeatable joint integrity in industrial automation.
The controller mounts beside a BT300 or SB305 module, and each of those expansion frames carries 5 channels that the SE301 manages through an Integrated Bus System running both logic and sensor signals on a shared backplane. Field wiring is reduced because the internal bus is bridged through the KE300/KE310 communication unit, eliminating the need for external gateway hardware. A maximum link length of 100 m between successive boxes allows stations to be distributed along conveyors without affecting signal integrity. Up to 16 cell units can be chained, allowing a single master to handle several tightening zones while maintaining synchronous cycle times.
When the installation grows, the same architecture scales to 40 total system channels, all configured with the BS300 programming software, which stores tightening curves and parameter sets in a graphical interface. Power and data are routed through the daisy-chain connectors via the dedicated power and communication link, so no additional supply harness is required at downstream boxes. Despite its supervisory role, the SE301 weighs only 1.4 kg, which simplifies cabinet layout and wall mounting. Automatic component recognition detects each attached module during power-up. Built-in system diagnostics report connection and module issues, reducing the time required to prepare the system for operation.
