Product Description:
The SB301 0 608 830 206 system box unit is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the SB System Box Units series. Designed as a modular enclosure for distributed drive and control topologies, the unit provides a common mechanical frame for power, communication, and I/O electronics used in industrial automation cells. By combining rack couplers, power modules, and termination hardware in one structure, it supports decentralized machine layouts, protects installed cards from external contamination, and helps keep module placement close to the equipment being controlled. This arrangement allows related control sections to be housed in one enclosure instead of being spread across separate mounting points, which can simplify cable routing inside the machine.
Internally, the frame offers a cell capacity of 16 units, giving space for power distribution, motion control, or I/O cards. Its channel architecture is limited to 1 channel, which suits applications that use a single data path per box. That layout keeps the internal structure straightforward and supports clear assignment of modules to one communication path. An external gasket and sealed door give the enclosure a splashproof rating, and the dedicated rear termination marked AW300 completes the backplane to support stable signal transmission across the rack. When several boxes are cascaded, up to 40 cell channels can be addressed through the bus connection, allowing one controller to communicate with multiple stations.
The unit uses the rack coupler RK300 for its mechanical link, and primary drive power is supplied by the VM300 module that slides directly into the rail. One slot can remain open for future expansion, while the unused BP303 cover helps preserve airflow and EMC shielding inside the enclosure. The housing weighs 23.3 kg when populated, and its bus coupling interface accepts standard bus cables for communication between boxes without additional signal conversion hardware. The enclosure is intended for industrial environments with floor or wall mounting, and a switch cabinet is not required.
