The KE310 is a controller module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the SB System Box Units series. It serves as the central processing element in automated tightening and assembly cells. The module links sensor inputs, actuator outputs, and several fieldbus channels to the higher-level plant network so that production sequences can be coordinated in real time. This arrangement allows the controller to process fastening data, manage connected equipment, and communicate production results to other systems in the plant.
This unit provides 10 digital 24 V inputs for status detection and 13 solid-state 24 V outputs for direct valve or relay actuation. A built-in Ethernet port uses the 10BaseT Ethernet physical layer, and messages are transferred through TCP/IP. Local functions can be expanded through 3 free card slots, each of which accepts application-specific boards that communicate over the internal standard bus system. When the controller operates as a Profibus node, it supports a 512-point Profibus DP capacity. The 3964R protocol and PCP result-channel transfers are available for communication with legacy tooling. The controller also includes 2 serial interfaces that support RS232, RS422, or 20 mA current-loop modes and can connect to devices such as barcode readers or torque analyzers. A 32 MB FTP buffer stores production traces for retrieval through the plant network.
The controller supports a 160-point Interbus-S capacity for communication with compatible field devices. It can supervise up to 40 tightening channels simultaneously, providing centralized control for fastening operations across an assembly cell. As many as 16 cell units can be connected through the internal bus, allowing multiple sections of a fastening line to share processing resources. The PCP result channel enables external diagnostic systems to retrieve cycle results without interrupting active control traffic. The housing weighs 1.5 kg, which reduces the load on mounting hardware and supports installation in space-constrained control enclosures.
