Product Description:

The BT300 system box unit is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the SB System Box Units series. Acting as the central rack in a tightening or assembly cell, the unit provides backplane power distribution and logical slots for controller, I/O, and communication cards used in industrial automation. Installed in a switch cabinet, it forms the mechanical and electrical backbone that links tightening channels to higher-level networks so tools, couplers, and sensors can be coordinated by the cell controller.

One BT300 rack can support up to 40 channels, providing flexibility when multiple tightening spindles share the same enclosure. Only 5 channels may be assigned to high-torque tightening axes, which protects the capacity of the power bus. A maximum of 16 complete system box units can operate in a single cell, allowing large assembly lines to be divided into manageable sections without overloading the fieldbus. The housing is designed for switch cabinet mounting, which helps protect the electronics from dust and airborne oil mist. Bus termination is provided by the AW300 plug, allowing the last rack on the RS485 trunk to remain impedance-matched and maintain reliable communication.

Each BT300 frame accepts one RK300 coupler that connects the internal backplane to the external system bus. Ventilation is provided by one VE300 fan module that clips onto the side panel and moves cooling air through the installed cards. Control logic is handled by the KE300/KE310 communication unit, which occupies the dedicated controller slot and manages data exchange with the plant network. Any unoccupied card position must be covered by the BP301 blank to preserve airflow and electromagnetic shielding throughout the enclosure. The structural steel chassis weighs 14.6 kg, which must be considered when selecting cabinet supports and mounting hardware. The frame can also accommodate one VM300 power supply module for localized 24 V power distribution to compatible components.
